User uploaded content - Version 2.02 released
Sunday, October 26, 2008
Lara has again been updated to a new version with two main changes: A new functionality that allows website visitors to upload content to the site and an improved File Library. User uploaded Content The website owner can allow users to upload content onto your website. This is a very powerful tool as it can generate a lot of visitors and original content for your website. You have to allow the Community Content functionality under Settings > Network. There you can choose the type of media you want to your users to upload, like (blog) posts, photos, real estate properties (if you have upgraded your website) etc. Just click on the media type you want to allow and then Save at the bottom of the screen. Then you need to drop a Sign Up Box feature onto your page (Go to Edit Page > Change Layout or Add Feature > Community) and style it the way you like. You can write your own display text (that’s the text showing up with the button, like “Sign up here”) and choose the style of your button. Then enter a short text you want on the Add Content button (Add your posts here, for instance) and Save. Content will be showing up on your site immediately, according to your settings. You will receive an email anytime someone uploads content to your site so that you can check on the quality and appearance. The content will also show up in your Add/Edit Content list where you can edit and delete the uploaded item.
