Deleting Content

Friday, October 10, 2008

You have 2 options to delete content, depending what kind of content you want to delete.

1.) Deleting static content, like a text area, a static image (not a photo associated with a blog post), a contact box etc.

If you wish to remove a photo, for instance, from your page you can delete it right on the page. Go to the page the photo is on and click Edit Page. You will now see the photo in its Edit Box with a Delete button on it. Click Delete and the photo will be deleted from that spot. Please note that this will not delete the photo from your library.
The same can be done to delete a text area

2.) Deleting dynamic content, like blog posts, photos, articles etc.

To delete a blog post (or article, real estate property, photo etc.) click on it which will load the Add/Edit screen.
At the bottom of the page in the Publishing Status section is the Delete button which removes your blog post. Confirm your decision by clicking "Yes" in the little window that will ask you if you are sure about deleting that item.

You can also go to Add/Edit Content at the top of your screen and go to Posts (or whatever you want to delete) and go through your list of content until you find the media item you wish you to delete and click Delete right next to it.

Your post will be deleted immediately and all links that might be pointing to that post will be directed to a screen saying: "The media you are looking for cannot be found. It may have been moved or deleted."
