Create Pages

Monday, September 22, 2008

You can easily create, edit and maintain new pages.

Go to Pages and Menus in your admin menu which will load your Website Organisation with all your current pages and menu items.
Some pages are added by the system automatically and cannot be edited or deleted.

In order to create a new page click on Add Page and enter the Title of the page (e.g. Free Graphics and Images) and the Description Text (e.g. “Get the latest freebies”). The path (describes the domain name extension so the name that is displayed in the URL, e.g. http://getlara.com/features) will automatically be added according to the title you have typed in (in this case it would be /free-graphics-and-images). If you wish to change the path (to /freebies) you can do so by entering a different path into the Path field.

Click Add to Main Menu or Top Menu if you wish to automatically place a link onto you main or top menu.

To make changes to the page title or description click on the page and the Edit which loads a window where you can make the changes. Please note that once a new page has been saved, the path cannot be changed. This would lead to conflicts with all links that had been created in the meantime.
To view a (new) page, click on the page icon and then View which will open that page in a new window.
To delete a page completely, click on the page icon and Delete.

Please note that pages have to be created first before they can be added as a menu link.
